100 Simple Ways to Choose Love

Valentines Day is once a year but that doesn't mean the loving has to wait. That's one of the reasons I am really excited to start this new series! As we all know, love means a whole lot more when it's shown on a daily basis.

The picture is of my grandparents around the time of their marriage. They eloped against the wishes of his mother and had a strong marriage for several decades. Don't they look so happy?

Choosing love has been like an elephant sitting on my mind. I find myself trying constantly to think of ways I can make a difference for the people in my home. It's been really cool!

I've compiled a list of 100 simple ways to choose love. These don't cost anything unless you want them to. They often will only take seconds of your time but will have a lasting impact for your loved ones.

Here they are in random order:

This list is by no means exhaustive. Have I left any out? Please let me know.

For the next several weeks I'll be choosing one or a few to highlight until we make it through the list. I hope you'll come along, participate in the comments, and experience the joy choosing love will bring to you and those around you.

I'll give you a hint what the first highlight will be: it's #97.

Want to download the list? Click here.

Have a wonderful weekend staying warm!

Update: Some posts from the series!

  17. Love is defending the person who is not there to defend themselves. Love is honoring the person for how far they have come to this present point with the hope of continued growth in the future. Love is loving people who hate you but that are people that your children love (ex-spouses, exinlaws,) Love is pursuing someone despite how much it can hurt. =)
