Easy Garlic Basil Butter Pasta

Seasoned Butter Pasta Heaven is Smiling Above

I'm all about easy recipes that are done in less than 20 minutes, and this is one of them. If you like simple dinners, this is a good main meal with fresh garden tomatoes and cucumbers or other such produce. Otherwise, a small portion is a great compliment to a salad and basic meat. Pair it with your favorite marinara sauce to really add some richness to the flavor.

Please, please, please do not substitute anything for the butter. In my mind, nothing quite says "I love you" than the fatty goodness of butter (and maybe cream and chocolate)! My hubby got me a quart of cream for Valentine's Day this year, and I couldn't have been happier. :)

My children and I ate this as a side dish for a few nights in a row. It was great!

Easy Garlic Basil Butter Pasta

16 oz angel hair pasta
1/2 cup butter (1 stick), NOT margarine
1 Tablespoon minced garlic
2 teaspoons dried basil or 2 Tablespoons fresh basil, finely chopped
salt as needed

1. In a large stock pot, boil copious amounts of water (your pasta box might give you specific amounts). Add some salt (1-2 Tablespoons) to it if you like that extra seasoning. I do! Once the water is boiling, add the pasta, stirring occasionally until al dente. Drain and rinse under cold water. Return to the pot.

2. Meanwhile, in a small saucepan melt the butter. Add the garlic and basil. Reduce the heat to medium low and simmer, stirring occasionally, until the butter is mildly browned and fragrant - about 10 minutes. Watch it so it doesn't burn! It should be done about the same time as the pasta.

3. Add the infused butter to the pasta and toss to thoroughly combine. Serve warm.

Serve it with this awesome bread:
