Sacred Sabbath: To All Women With a Mother Heart

Happy Mother's Day
to all with a Mother Heart

Matthew Cowley Woman quote

Fourteen years ago, I celebrated the possibility of my first Mother's Day. I was newly pregnant with my first child. It was a miracle! My husband and I had tried for four years to have a baby.

I had been previously told I couldn't have children. My doctor had found a massive ovarian cyst to which I lost one of my ovaries. With only one left, who knew if I would ever be able to conceive?

Six children later, things are working just fine. So, to all you women who have children of your own, and to all the women who stand in as a righteous mothering influence to someone else's child, I say Thank You! The world is a better place because of your work, struggles, prayers, and love.

Happy Mother's Day!

There is no limit to what a woman with a mother heart can accomplish

Children are not a distraction from more important work. They are the most important work.

  4. What a wonderful post, like you I was unsure if I would ever have children, but after 5 miscarriages I was blessed with my daughter and then three years later blessed with my son. They really are the most important work that I have.... everything else can wait. They won't be children forever and I cherish even the hardest moments with them. 5. I love that quote from C.S. Lewis. Indeed, there is nothing more valuable I can do than care for and teach my daughter (and any other children the Lord will someday bless us with).

  7. What an absolutely lovely post! I was ttc for almost 8 years before I met my babies for the first time. I think the heartbreak of infertility made me appreciate motherhood even more. Happy mother's day to you! Thanks so much for linking up with #TwinklyTuesday
